Have you heard about Giewont?

Giewont is a famous mountain massif, looking down at Zakopane. It is not only an important part of the landscape but also a site of religious pilgrimages and the resting place of the legendary knights.

Giewont is a mountain massif in the Western Tatras with a height of 1894 m above the sea level and a length of 2.7 km. At the top of the Great Giewont is a 15 m steel cross, placed there in 1901. It is made up of 400 parts of iron, brought there by 500 people. Builders also brought 400 kg of cement and 200 canvas pots of water. The cross is the site of religious pilgrimages.
